NE Mutiny adds second team in UWS2; MA Rush Central joins the New England Conference

Metuchen, NJ – UWS League Two (UWS2) is excited to announce expansion to the New England Conference in 2022. New England Mutiny (Ludlow, MA), who fields a team in the first division of UWS will be adding a second team to compete in UWS2. Massachusetts Rush Central (Marlboro, MA) will be launching a women’s team as part of the Northeast Rush affiliation.

Established in 1999, the New England Mutiny has a rich history of success. In 2012, the Mutiny became the only amateur women’s team to defeat a professional women’s side when it defeated the Boston Breakers (Women’s Professional Soccer), 2-1. Numerous Mutiny players have gone to the professional ranks, and most recently 2019 UWS Player of the Year Kate Howarth went on to play with Orlando Pride in 2020. The club will kick off it’s first season in UWS League Two as an extension of their First Team in UWS.

“We are excited to add a UWS2 team as it will provide a player pathway for our female players to various collegiate and professional programs,” said New England Mutiny owner Joe Ferrara.

New England Mutiny II will play their home matches at Lusitano Stadium (400 Winsor St, Ludlow, MA 01056). For more information on NE Mutiny, visit their official website at mutinysoccer.com. You can also follow them on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
