Metuchen, NJ — United Women’s Soccer is ecstatic to welcome back, Indiana Union, to the Midwest Conference. Indiana Union’s women’s team is an extension of the Indy Premier Soccer Club, who originally joined UWS in 2017. The club finished as the UWS Midwest Conference Champions in 2019, and competed in the final four in Calgary, Alberta. After a cancelled season in 2020, the Union took off this past season. Not only will the Indianapolis-based club be returning to UWS in 2022, they will be adding a second team in UWS League Two.
“We are pleased to have the UWS platform for Indy Premier United once again, this top-tier semi-pro league is exactly what our players and coaches believe in,” said Indy Premier Girls Director of Coaching Kenrick Ramirez. “The regionally-based regular season will make travel very viable and cost effective. The league has gone strength to strength and is being run by good, intelligent, experienced people.”
We are excited to welcome back Indiana Union to UWS,” said League Commissioner Joe Ferrara. “The staff has vast experience in not only the collegiate game but also in the operation of an elite level women’s team. This new found partnership will provide the necessary resources to successfully manage the team both on and off the field.”
Indy Premier was formed in June 2014 with the merger of three soccer clubs on the northeast side of Indianapolis. Fishers Soccer Club, IPSC and the travel component of Noblesville United Soccer Club merged to form the largest Travel & Rec Plus Program in the state of Indiana. They are the only club in the state of Indiana that will now be fielding two women’s soccer teams at the UWS and UWS League Two levels.
“We are very excited to have a franchise like this for our membership and offer something of substance for soccer players from age 2 thru adulthood,” said Ramirez. “With a staff of Rusell Gee, Cliare Ward, Daniel Seiffert and Mary Seiffert the knowledge and experience they bring will be great for the players and the league. We feel that Indy Premier United can provide the best outlet for players outside of their collegiate seasons. We are also pleased to add Indiana Union II which will focus on our excelling academy players after their Academy season and some younger players, without significant cost or travel. Indy Premier United which brings Indy Premier and Fort Wayne United together just added two fantastic leagues for our membership. We are excited to work with many sponsors to make this a great experience for all involved.”
Indiana Union will play their home games at Trinity Sports Park in Noblesville, IN. For more information on Indiana Union and Indy Premier, visit their official website. Connect with Indiana Union on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
