40 Teams Participated This Season; 4 Teams Vie for the Ultimate Prize
Buffalo, NY – The 2024 United Women’s Soccer (UWS) National Championship is set to take place in Buffalo, NY, from July 19 to 21. This highly anticipated event follows an exhilarating season that saw 40 teams from across the country compete for a spot in the finals. Four exceptional teams have now earned the opportunity to battle for the ultimate prize: the UWS National Championship.
“We are thrilled to host our National Championship in Buffalo this year,” said Joe Ferrara, UWS Commissioner. “The city has a rich sports culture and a passionate community that will make this event unforgettable for our athletes and fans.”
The championship weekend will be hosted by FC Buffalo, a club deeply embedded in the local community. All three games, including the two national semifinal rounds and the national final, will be played at Robert Rich Sr. All-High Stadium. Specific dates and times will be announced following the final weekend of regular season games.
Nick Mendola, co-owner of FC Buffalo, expressed his excitement about the upcoming event: “Our club was founded to put our city on a stage, and we are both honored and humbled by the opportunity to showcase our league and our city this month. This announcement is months in the making, and we want to thank UWS Commissioner Joe Ferrara for his endless work on behalf of the league.”

UWS has a history of showcasing some of the top women’s players in the world, including Catarina Macario, Ashley Sanchez, Deyna Castellanos, Stephanie Labbe, and Lauren Sesselman. Recent NWSL draft picks to come out of UWS include Alyssa Thompson, Clara Robbins, Olivia Wingate, Savannah DeMelo, Viviana Villacorta, and Taylor Kornieck.
