Lone Star Republic is the second Dallas-based side in growing conference

METUCHEN, NJ – The Lone Star Republic Women’s team was founded in the summer of 2020 and is the latest expansion side to join the Southwest Conference of United Women’s Soccer (UWS). The organization is based out of Richardson, Texas in the Dallas suburbs and will play their home games at the Greenhill School in Addison.

Lone Star Republic also fields multiple men’s teams that have competed in the Dallas Soccer Alliance, NISA Independent Cup, U.S. Open Cup qualifying and the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL). The women’s and men’s teams will be managed by former professional players and U.S. National Team members Casey & Zach Loyd.

“We are excited to welcome the Lone Star group into United Women’s Soccer,” said UWS Commissioner Joe Ferrara. “Establishing a footprint in the Southwest had been a goal of the league since day one due to the talent that historically has come from the region. Lone Star brings a background of professionalism that will be a positive impact on the league.”

“We’re ecstatic to be a part of United Women’s Soccer,” said team captain Jackie Cortez. “We are looking forward to seeing our team compete with the best and we are extremely excited that we get to represent the city of Dallas!”

The Dallas-based team is the eighth member of the UWS Southwest alongside Bat Country FC (Austin, TX), CTX Hornets (Kyle, TX), FC Austin Elite, Dallas International FC, San Antonio Athenians, Side FC 92 (Tulsa, OK) and Williamson County FC.

A group of dedicated and talented players provided a strong foundation throughout the last year and LSR looks forward to seeing their efforts be rewarded by competing in UWS this summer. Team tryouts will be held weekly on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays between now and the start of the UWS season. Tryout information can be found HERE.
