Expansion continues in UWS, as Indiana Elite FC joins Midwest Conference

METUCHEN, NJ – United Women’s Soccer is pleased to announce the addition of Indiana Elite FC for the 2021 season. Indiana Elite FC will replace Indiana Union in the Midwest Conference’s South Division.

Indiana Elite FC is excited to present the opportunity to play at the high level offered by UWS to high school, college and amateur players in Northwest Indiana, the Chicagoland area and the entire Midwest.

“This is an incredible opportunity for our club and we are honored to be joining the UWS for the 2021 season,” Executive Director Novi Marojevic said. “We thank the UWS for allowing us to be a member of their very professionally run organization and we cannot wait to see our ladies play against some of the top competition in the Midwest this summer.”

“I want to thank Novi and the club for giving me the chance to put our inaugural UWS team together and giving me all the support they have since the decision became official,” head coach Ante Cop said. “With the amount of talent in our area, we are looking forward to bringing as many of these players together and fielding a very competitive team in our first year. We want to build something that will be around for a long time and give all of our younger players something to aim for down the road.”

Indiana Elite FC was originally founded in 2006 under the name Indiana Tigers. Since then, the club has pursued its goal of providing the best possible soccer experience for all of its players and parents. The club is home to over 350 players, and has won league, state, regional and national titles.

Indiana Elite FC takes pride in developing great players, and is home to coaches from all over the world who help the club do just that.

The club is based out of its new Elite Sportsplex, which opened last summer in Portage, Indiana, and is the official home of all Indiana Elite clubs. The facility houses eight grass fields, and plans are in place to add turf expansions in the future.
