METUCHEN, NJ – United Women’s Soccer (UWS) has officially announced the alignment and schedule for the 2022 Southwest Division as part of the new South Conference. Six Texas-based teams from the Southwest Division will play a ten game regular season schedule with the top seed advancing to the South Conference Championship.
Two teams open up the season on Saturday, May 14, as expansion club Luxoria FC hosts FC Austin Elite in Dallas, Texas. The following day, the San Antonio Runners host their inaugural season game against Williamson County FC at their 5,000 seat stadium in the Wheatley Heights Sports Complex. Luxoria FC is back in action on Friday, May 20 against the 2021 Southwest Conference Champions, San Antonio Athenians. That same day, CTX Hornets make their 2022 debut at Williamson County FC at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex.
The regular season will conclude on Saturday, July 9, and the top team in the division will advance to the South Conference Championship against the top seed of the Southeast Division on Saturday, July 16. The winner will represent the South in the UWS National Championship from July 22-24.
