METUCHEN, NJ – United Women’s Soccer (UWS) has officially announced the alignment and schedule for the 2022 Midwest Division as part of the new Central Conference which consists of seventeen teams. The Midwest Division is made up of five teams spanning across Illinois, Indiana and Missouri. The top two finishers will play each other for the Midwest Division Championship on Thursday, July 7 to advance to the next round of playoffs.
Two teams open up the season on Sunday, May 15. St. Louis Scott Gallagher (SLSG) starts off the season on the road to face RBFC Elite (formerly named Indiana Elite) at Riverside Brookfield HS (Riverside, IL). The following weekend, SLSG hosts the Chicago Mustangs at WWT Soccer Park (Fenton, MO) on Friday, May 20. That same day, Indiana Union and Illinois Premier will make their 2022 debut on the Union’s home turf at Trinity Sports Park (Noblesville, IN).
The Midwest Division Champion will play the Champion of the Great Lakes Division on Saturday, July 9. The Winner will play the Heartland Division Champion on Saturday, July 16 for a chance to represent the Central Conference in the four-team UWS National Championship held between July 22-24.
