Metuchen, NJ – The Sunshine Conference of United Women’s Soccer League Two (UWS2) kicks off its inaugural season this summer with experienced and quality teams. Five Florida-based organizations make up the 2021 UWS2 Sunshine Conference lineup with the opening game occurring on Saturday, May 22nd.
Unity FC welcomes Atlético Miami UD for the first match of the season at Northeast Regional Park (7:00 PM EDT). The next day, Atlético Miami UD heads to Patton Park to face Jacksonville FC (kick-off TBD). With each conference team playing an 8 game schedule, the season will be played out over a span of 9 weeks.
“The teams representing UWS2 in Florida share a common vision and the desire to further the women’s game,” said Conference Commissioner Mark Ford. “There has been a great collaborative effort between the teams to ensure that 2021 will be a resounding success. The foundation has been laid for a very bright future for UWS in Florida.”
The UWS2 Sunshine Conference regular season wraps up between July 24-25 with two important matches. On Saturday, July 24, Atlético Miami UD will host SportsParadize SA at Doral Meadows Park (kick-off TBD). The season concludes on July 25 when Broward County-based team, Sunrise SC, heads north to play SportsParadize at Arcadia Area Soccer Park (3:00 PM EDT).
