Metuchen, NJ – The Great Lakes Conference of United Women’s Soccer League Two (UWS2) kicks off its inaugural season this summer with experienced and quality teams. Eleven Michigan-based organizations make up the 2021 UWS2 Great Lakes lineup with the opening game occurring on Saturday, May 8th.
The Grand Haven Admirals host Corktown AFC’s Reserves for their first-ever UWS2 match at Western Michigan Christian High School (6:00 PM EDT). AFC Plymouth starts their campaign traveling east to play against Thundercats SC at Anchor Bay High School on May 16 (7:00 PM EDT). Livonia City FC, the lone team in UWS2 to compete in the 2020 UWS Keystone Showcase, kicks off its campaign on May 21 traveling across town to play Michigan Stars FC (7:00 PM EDT). The month of May closes out with Detroit City FC hosting Rebels FC at Independence Park on May 29 (12:00 PM EDT). With each conference team playing a 10 game schedule, the season will be played out over a span of 11 weeks.

We are anticipating an intense, edge-of-your-seat, kind of season and can’t wait to kick it off!”
The UWS2 Great Lakes regular season wraps up between July 21-24 with four important matches. On Wednesday, July 21, Rebels FC will host Thundercats SC at Oakland University (7:00 PM EDT). Detroit City FC travels to Total Sports Wixom to play against North Oakland SC to close out the season for both teams (6:30 PM EDT). Legends FC hosts their final game of the season against Thundercats SC at The Legacy Center (7:00 PM EDT). The season concludes on July 24 with the southeast Michigan match-up of FC Midland hosting Michigan Stars FC at Northwood University (2:00 PM EDT).
