METUCHEN, NJ – United Women’s Soccer (UWS) has announced their primary competition outline for the upcoming 2021 season. With a record number of 40 teams competing in five conferences across the United States and Canada, the national pro-am league kicks off their regular season on May 8th and will culminate with a National Championship on the weekend of July 23-25. Conference schedules will be released in March.
All in all, there will be a total of 80 teams between UWS and UWS League Two: the league’s new developmental pathway for U20-U23 players and official division for UWS reserve teams. Since its inception in 2016, UWS has prioritized quality over quantity. Going into the 2021 season, the league is in full stride with a core of like-minded member clubs that share in the mission to advance women’s soccer through professional-level standards of operation.
